Hi! My name is Ross Ford and I am a trained English teacher originally from Birmingham in the UK.
Since moving to The Netherlands in 2011, I have been working in an international and hectic sales and marketing environment for an American flower seed company. During that time I have also managed to pass my state exam in Dutch, get married and, together with my wife, have two children! I live in Almere and in my spare time I train for and play competitive squash.
I recently studied to become an English teacher through the intensive CELTA (Certificate in teaching English to speakers of other languages) from Cambridge University.
I enjoy planning and delivering interactive, student centred lessons where the students do most of the talking. At the end of the lesson, I love to see the students communicating with each other by making use of their new language skills.
I try and make every lesson as enjoyable as possible even though I know from experience that learning a new language can be both at times confusing and frustrating. Luckily, I can have a typical English sense of humour that could brighten up your evening! I look forward to meeting you soon.
