My name is Mahshid, which in Persian means "moonlight".
I was born in Iran, but it has been about four years since I moved away from there. I have worked in education for 16 years. I started teaching when I was 21 and have worked as a high school, university, and language institute instructor, as well as a school manager and team leader, in Iran, Slovenia, and the Netherlands. After visiting many countries, I chose the Netherlands as my second home country about two years ago. A few months ago, I began working as an IELTS instructor at EAN Groningen, and I have recently joined NHL Stenden University of Applied Science as a teacher trainer. I have never stopped teaching, even while I had other positions.
As a person who was born to be a teacher and is very passionate about her job, I know how to enhance my students' self-confidence in order to awaken their "sleeping beauty" (their language potentials and capabilities). I take into account the needs and goals of my students to create the most effective lesson plan instead of basing my teaching strategies on a formula.
